The Sintra Coast is much quieter and more rugged than the Estoril Coast. The two main beaches of Praias Grande and Macas can be reached from Sintra by means of a small tram that runs during the summer. |

Travelling north from Sintra one can see the towns of Mafra and Obidos. Mafra has an enormous and impressive palace, and Obidos is a very old walled city. |
