Restaurants |
Estoril and Cascais are 20 minutes drive from Sintra on the coast. They are two towns next to each other and provide a range of more youthful services than Sintra. There are lots of restaurants, lots of bars, a couple of clubs, and of course the Estoril Casino, which is one of the largest in Europe. Cascais is the place to be on a friday night. |

There are numerous shopping facilities in Cascais. Cascais Villa is a medium sized shopping centre in downtown Cascais. It has a number of shops, restaurants, a supermarket and a cinema. CascaiShopping is a much larger version of the same, half way between Cascais and Sintra. Jumbo is a large hypermarket in downtown Cascais. There are also a few shop lined streets in Cascais. |
| Beaches | |
| There are beaches all along the Estoril coast. Those at Carcavelos and Guincho are favourites with surfers. Most are good for sunbathing and swimming. Cascais beach (behind the train station) has facilities for watersports (waterskiing, windsurfing, pedal boats, banana rides etc.) in the summer. | |
